Note-Taking Like a Main Character
Notes are not transcription. They're your brain's highlight reel. If
your notes look boring, you won't read them. Make them
Instagram-worthy.
3.1 Why Good Notes = Cheat Code
Writing by hand boosts memory by 40% vs. just listening. But the
magic is in how you write, not how much.
3.2 Three Methods That Actually Slap
1. Cornell Method – The CEO: Page divided into: Notes (right),
Cues/Questions (left), Summary (bottom). After class, write 3
questions in left column and a 2-sentence summary at bottom.
Review = just read left + bottom.
2. Mind Mapping – The Artist: Central idea in middle, branches
out. Perfect for visual brains and connecting topics. Use colors,
doodles, arrows.
3. Outline Method – The Minimalist: Bullet points + indentation.
Main topic > subtopic > detail. Clean, fast, great for lectures that
are structured.

3.3 Active Listening Hack
Don't write everything. Write what the teacher repeats, writes on
board, or says 'This is important.' Develop your own shorthand: w/
= with, b/c = because, -> = leads to, ? = confusion.
3.4 Digital vs. Handwritten
Handwritten wins for memory. Digital wins for search + speed. The
cool compromise? Handwrite in class, type a clean summary that
night (15 min). You get both benefits.
