Build Your Study Sanctuary
You cannot focus in chaos. Your environment is either your best
friend or your worst enemy. Let's make it your hype squad.
2.1 Your Dedicated Zone
Don't study where you doom-scroll in bed. Your brain gets
confused. Pick ONE corner – even a desk in the closet – and
declare it your Study Sanctuary. When you sit there, your brain
knows: 'Oh, we work now.'
The Non-Negotiables: Good light (natural or warm lamp), a chair
that doesn't break your back, and zero dirty laundry in sight.
ESTEFANIA'S COOL TIP: The 5-Minute Setup: Before
studying, spend 5 minutes cleaning ONLY your desk. Put on a
signature scent or candle you only use for studying. Pavlov, but
make it cute.
2.2 Kill Distractions – The Cool Way
Digital: Notifications OFF. Use Forest app or put your phone in
another room on grayscale mode. Website blockers are not
embarrassing, they're elite.
Human: Tell your fam/roommates: 'I'm in focus mode 7-8pm, don't
talk to me unless house is on fire.' Headphones = universal 'do not
disturb' sign.
2.3 Organize Like a Pro, Not a Perfectionist
Bins, folders, one digital folder per subject. Name files like a
human: 'Bio_Chapter4_Notes_Estefania_FINALfinal' – you know
the drill. Use Notion, Google Drive, or a good old binder with
dividers that spark joy.
Personalize it: Put up ONE motivational quote, a photo of future
you (graduation? dream job?), and a plant. Yes, fake plants count.
